Nerves of Jello

You'd think I'd be happy. My house is cleaner than it has ever been in all the time we've lived here. But the more I think of people poking around in here, the more anxious I become. The thought of a stranger opening one of my kitchen cupboards is getting me all twitchy (hence why I've been up since 4:00am). Perhaps I would feel better if I actually wanted to sell the house. Maybe I wouldn't care so much then.

At any rate, I've informed our agent that if he thinks we need to put more stuff away, he's S.O.L. We have occupied every last nook and cranny in this house. In fact, maybe I'm concerned that if someone opens something, there will be an avalanche and then we'll be liable! I literally have started to put things inside mugs in the kitchen. I cannot believe how much stuff we have and we've already thrown out half of it already! I think about the Duggar family and their 16 children (heard she's pregnant again, too) and how they'd have to live the most minimalist lifestyle, because with what we have from five people here? I can't imagine the junk 18 people could accumulate! Of course, they now have a 7,000 sf house, so that helps!

Anyhoo - if I have to hide another thing, they may as well cart me off to the psych ward (not a new experience for me, fortunately) and be done with it.

P.S. The cleaners came yesterday and I had removed all of the magnets from the fridge so they could wipe it down. As well, Doug had taken this disgusting straw Ikea mat out of Kestrel's room, which was a dust trap. She was fit to be tied. She kept waking up and crying last night and I finally ended up bringing her to bed with me. It was heart-breaking.

Snif!

The house looks GREAT! I'd love to see how the inside looks now - haven't seen it since you re-did the living room!

Good luck with the Opens this weekend! and just keeping saying 'this too, shall pass'. Before you know it, you'll be in your new house and settled again!
